    Mr. B,

I’m a 6th grade parent and I don’t know the ropes yet so please excuse me if my question is stupid. How will we know if our student will be recognized at the 1st quarter assembly? Is there a list posted somewhere? I have already met with his teachers and nothing was mentioned.

I like this blog idea. As a 6th grade parent, I often do not know how your school handles things. (i.e. parent/teacher conferences) At the elementary school we were given appointments with the teachers. I called the school to ask why I hadn’t gotten any information on a conference time. They told me that you have open hours to meet with teachers. I would like to suggest that you give new parents information like this ahead of time.

    Thanks,
    Lise Plotzke

Thank you for writing to my blog, Mrs. Plotzke!
Honor roll assembly invitations will go out next week. Students who have reached a GPA of 3.5 or above will be recognized; we also recognize perfect attendance.

I’m glad you like my blog. It is an on-going goal to improve school-to-parent communication and involvement.

I intend to discuss and study our paernt-teacher conferences over the course of this year. I agree there are aspects of our current model on which we can improve.

Thanks again for visiting; come back soon!
    Mr. B
