MVAL Game Changes!
The basketball game scheduled for Dec. 5 has been moved from FHMS to Phoenix Country Day School. Game time is still 4 p.m.
The girls soccer game scheduled for the same day has been CANCELLED!

In light of today’s evacuation of Four Peaks, what is the protocol for a similar event at the middle school and how would this be communicated to parents? Is there an automated phone response program in place?

Our safety plan at FHMS is based on recommendations, procedures, and protocol published by the Arizona Division of Emergency Management. Our safety plan is reviewed at least annually, and since Mrs. Gomez and I are new to the school, I convened a safety and security committee this year to conduct a thorough revision of the plan. Included in the review and revision process are meetings at the school with local law enforcement and emergency responders. All local agencies are intimately familiar with our campus, our buildings, and our plans.
Our safety plan includes generalized procedures to cover a wide variety of relevant safety and security issues. The plan includes a number of evacuation procedures for various circumstances. For obvious reasons, I hesitate to discuss our specific safety procedures here; however, I would gladly meet with you (or any interested parent) any time to give a more thorough over view of our FHMS safety and security plan.
