Homework Lab Opens at Fountain Hills Middle School

Published by under Mr. B's News

Fountain Hills Middle School students who need extra time or assistance with homework now have a place to go. Two FHMS homework labs will open Sept. 14. The homework labs will be open Monday through Thursday, 2:30-3:30 p.m., and will be supervised by two FHMS certified teachers. One lab is available for students who need help with math or science homework, and one is open for students who need help with English or social studies assignments.

“I am grateful to the Fountain Hills PTO for making this project possible. Last spring I submitted a proposal to the PTO to fund stipends for teachers to manage a dependable homework lab for FHMS students. PTO agreed, and has provided funding to run the homework labs for first semester. We will evaluate the lab’s attendance in December, and hopefully, we will see that the labs are being used and we can resubmit the proposal to PTO for second semester.” FHMS Principal, Tom Brennan, said of the project.

Middle school students who wish to use the FHMS homework lab simply need to show up with work. The math-science lab will be housed in room 417, and the English-social studies lab will be housed in room 133. If students just need extra time for homework, they may attend either lab. If you have questions about the FHMS homework lab, call Tom Brennan, 664-5411.
