2010 is now six days old, but the 2009-2010 school year is 88 days old! That means we’re almost half way through the current academic year. It goes quickly. Although there is never really a “quiet” time in the academic year, second semester gets wildly busy March-May. We will carry on with our academic and athletic activities, after school sports, fun classroom activities and the like. However, the last quarter of the year will bring: Spring Break, AIMS testing, eight grade Catalina Island field trip, seventh grade Astrocamp field trip, seventh grade Washington D.C. field trip, sixth grade Renaissance Faire field trip, Arts in the Courtyard, fifth grade “Middle School Experience,” and eight grade promotion! I know, it’s amazing. Students may feel like the year drags on at times, but we will be talking about promotion and summer break before you know it.
Here are some highlights of the next few weeks: Honor Roll Assemblies and early release, Jan. 15; No School Jan. 18; eight grade registration for high school, Jan. 19; Spelling Bee, Jan. 22.
There’s more, and there may be more scheduled in the days to come. Please check our blog each week–We’ll keep our calendar summary updated even when Mr. B doesn’t make time to write a post (although he’s trying to be better about that!)
Have a great second semester!
