Midnight Madness Goes Bowling

Published by under Student Activities

The Marciopa County Sheriff Office program Midnight Madness doesn’t really happen at midnight, and it’s really not so mad. It’s a community program designed to give Fountain Hills kids an opportunity to be involved in healthy, fun activities while working with good adult role models and mentors.

On Jan. 23, Deputy Jill Ochsner, Mrs. Goodell, Mrs. Beck, and Mr. Brennan led a group of FH youth to Via LInda Lanes for an evening of bowling, pizza, and fun.

One Midnight Madness event is planned each month. Keep your eye on the FHMS scrolling announcements for information about next month’s event!

Falcons Open League Play

Published by under Student Activities

FHMS Flacon Volleyball and Flag Football teams opened their season Sept. 11 against Rancho Solano Greenway. Unfortunately, the Falcons lost on the court and on the field. However, Mr. Brennan and the Falcon Fans were especially impressed by the number of FHMS students participating in athletics this year. There were enough interested students to create teams and opportunities for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders.

“It’s awesome to see so many dedicated kids out there representing FHMS,” Mr. Brennan said.

Ms. Ludington and Ms. Wright are coaching the volleyball program. Mr. Keating and Mr. Spaeth are coaching our flag football players.

The next home game for the football teams will be Sept. 19 beginning at 2:30 against Tesseract. The volleyballers travel to Tesseract on this same day. Both teams are in action at home on Sept. 25 against Rancho Solano Gilbert and Missouri beginning at 3 PM. Come out and support our Falcons!

Sixth Grade Rolls to Skateland

Published by under Student Activities

Sixth grade students who maintained passing grades and good behavior were treated to a fun-filled field trip (say THAT five times fast!) to Skateland in Mesa on May 9.  Three bus loads of FHMS sixth graders and staff descended upon the rink for fun times and fast flying follies.

Even Mr. O’Brien and Mr. Brennan laced it up to skate around the room. Mr. O’Brien met the challenge posed to him by some students. They “dared” him to skate continuously for the entire three-hour tour. He met the challenge, and remained on his skates the entire time.

FHMS students had a great time, and demonstrated excellent behavior while on the trip.
